How was Sophie & Bird started?
Sophie & Bird was launched in 2017 to bring healthy, stylish and functional clothes for babies and young children delivered to your door.
As parents ourselves, we were inspired after learning that children are particularly vulnerable to the thousands of toxic chemicals used in the textile industry. Although it is known that these hidden toxins pose health risks, very little has been done to raise awareness among consumers and we want to be part of the solution.
Our Seriously Soft products are made with just good stuff that's best for our precious little customers.
In keeping with our core values, we plant trees because of the health and environmental benefits that reforestation brings. We're passionate about using our business as a force for good, with a positive impact on people and the planet.
Is Sophie & Bird a non-profit organisation?
We are a for-profit organisation with health and sustainability in our DNA.
Our tree planting program not only helps us reduce our carbon footprint, it allows us to use our business as a force for good, transforming customers into philanthropists and hopefully motivating others to do something awesome for the environment along the way.

Who is Sophie & Bird?
We are a small family team committed to helping babies and toddlers to live a healthier life. Our brand takes the names of our children who challenge and inspire us to achieve the best possible standards for our little customers.
How does Sophie & Bird plant trees?
We're proud to support our charity tree planting program. For every product we sell, we plant a tree. We do this through our amazing Reforestation Partners around the world in North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
We want to use the purchasing power of individuals to grow a better future for our society and for the earth.
We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of planting 1,000,000 trees.
Where is the organic cotton from?
Well, there are a few different places where you can source organic cotton. However, we take our sourcing to the next level by ensuring that our cotton is certified to the internationally-recognised Global Organic Textile Standard.
The organic cotton that is used in our Seriously Soft Swaddles is grown, harvested and produced India. Cotton is of course a plant and weather factors can affect fibre strength. While the Indian cotton gives us the best results most of the time, we are constantly testing to ensure that we have the strongest and highest quality of the season.
What is the Global Organic Textile Standard?
GOTS is the gold standard for sustainable processing of textiles made from organically grown fibres (such as cotton or wool).
Our swaddles are certified to the GOTS standard, which means they are checked at every step of the supply chain, from harvesting through production, processing, manufacturing and labelling. The environmental management and social responsibility of producers is also independently verified.

What do I do with the box?
We'd suggest keeping it! But if you don't fancy repurposing your box into something awesome like a finger puppet theatre, a bi-plane or a boat, please recycle it.
While most of our packaging can be recycled, there is always room for improvement. We know this and are working hard to find alternative solutions such as compostables, paper and biodegradables.
We have pledged to be plastic free during 2019! We are working hard to come up with the best packaging solutions in a way that is not at the expense of the environment.

How long does shipping take?
We ship out within 24 hours of the order placed.
For domestic orders in the United States, delivery by standard shipping takes 3 to 5 business days. The vast majority of orders will be delivered within 2 to 3 business days.
If you would like your order sooner, you can choose expedited shipping (2 business days) or priority shipping (next day) at checkout.

How can I track my order?
We will send tracking information to the e-mail address associated with your order once the item has shipped. If after 2 business days you have not received your tracking information, please contact us here.
Where's my package?
We typically ship out orders same-day when placed by 12 noon otherwise we will ship next business day.
Once your package has been shipped, an automatic email will be sent to the email address that you provided when placing the order. Inside this email, you will find a tracking number that will tell you exactly where your package is.

What are your shipping rates?
We currently offer free shipping on orders over $50. Otherwise we charge a flat rate of $5.95 for shipping for anything else.
Orders for shipments outside of the United States are charged on a case-by-case basis depending on the destination and may include additional processing and handling fees. If this option is of interest to you, please refer to "International shipping" below.
We're pleased you're interested in our international shipping options! While we are not yet established with distributors or retailers outside of the United States, it is definitely on our priorities list.
We do ship internationally direct from our Amazon.com store (which you can check out here). Shipping rates vary depending on the total weight of your package as well as the exact location it's being delivered to. All international shipments will take an estimated delivery time of 2 to 4 weeks.

We accept American Express, Apple Pay, MasterCard, PayPal and Visa.
When will my payment card be charged?
Your card will be charged as soon as your order is processed.
How safe is it to order online?

Can I cancel an order once it has been placed?
Once we have accepted an order, we cannot stop it being shipped to you. However, once you have received the products you ordered, you may return or exchange any of them within 30 days of the date of purchase in accordance with our returns policy in accordance with your rights at law. How do I know if my order was placed successfully?

Will I have to pay customs or import fees?
It depends on where you live, because each country has its own laws and regulations for imposing customs or import fees. Some countries are more aggressive in vetting and flagging shipments than others. If you have any queries regarding customs in your country, we suggest you contact your local customs authority.

Do you provide discounts and giveaways?

Can I place a gift order?
Yes. When placing an order for someone else, be sure to enter your email address in the relevant field of Customer Information. This way, you'll receive all order information and pricing. Purchasers on amazon.com here can select gift-wrapping, gift messaging or both and the product prices will not appear in the packing slip.

What is your return and exchange policy?
At Sophie & Bird, we proudly stand behind our 30 Day Guarantee: if you're not 100% satisfied, we'll gladly give you a refund. That's how committed we are to our healthy organic cotton materials.
Please note that our 30 Day Guarantee extends your right to cancel your entire order pursuant to UK consumer rights legislation within 14 days of receipt of the product.

How long does it take to process a return?
We will process your return as quickly as possible. Once we have received your item we'll notify you of this to the email address that you provided at checkout. We strive to process a return within 20 days. Please note that the time it will take to post the refund to your payment account may vary according to your payment service provider's terms.
If I return my order does Sophie & Bird dig up a tree from the earth?
No. We accept returns within 30 days from the date of receipt in accordance with our 30 Day Guarantee. After that period has expired, the sale will be counted towards our reforestation program. Once a tree has been planted, it is planted. We would never dig up a tree.
